The conversion (which includes transaction (history) files) can be done, although it is not recommended. The reason for this is that the transaction (history) files do not always convert properly when imported into QuickBooks. I've seen error rates as high as 35% when importing transaction files into QuickBooks 2002 and older (i.e., 2000, 99, etc.).
