I've upgraded step by step, so I can't comment on a 4-10 upgrade. However, the upgrade wizard says it will cover this. Suggestion: try it on Widgets (the sample company) first. then, be sure you have a backup of your V4 file and upgrade to v10. Compare the balance sheet and P&L v10 with the same reports in v4. If they agree, you should be OK.
V10 is quite an improvement. Of course I use a Mac for my accounting, sd my V10 is AccountEdge v1, but I've got clients on v10.
