There are three ways you can export your trial balance from Great Plains. First you can use the report writer to create a properly formatted report and print the report to an ASCII file. Second you can create a ODBC connection in Excell and grab the records from GL20000 and GL00101 to read in the transactions by date. GL20000 maintains the current year transactions and GL00101 maintains the account numbers and descriptions. Third you can create a view in explorer and export it to Excell. However this only works in version 5.5 and 6.0 of Great Plains and does not work very well if you have a lot of transactions. For more help contact KTL Solutions, Inc. at 301-360-0001 or support@ktlsolutions.com. KTL Solutions, Inc. is a leader in Great Plains consulting and software development. Tim Lally
