CHARLESTON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Blackbaud, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLKB) today announced two keynote speakers for BBCON 2011, Blackbaud Conference for Nonprofits including Randi Zuckerberg, Facebook’s director of marketing communications and research, and David Meerman Scott, author of two bestselling books on how organizations can use social media effectively as part of their overall marketing strategies.

BBCON 2011 will be held at the Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center at National Harbor in Washington, DC from Oct. 3 to 5. As the largest conference focused on nonprofit technology in the world, the 2011 Blackbaud Conference is one of three annual, global conferences that the company will host this year including: the Blackbaud Conference for Not for Profits in London, England on October 10 and 11 and the Blackbaud Conference for Nonprofits in Sydney, Australia on November 7 and 8.

Marc Sirkin, Autism Speaks chief community officer, and a speaker at last year’s Conference, found the networking and resource sharing invaluable. "The Blackbaud Conference is one of the year's largest and best networking events in the nonprofit industry," said Sirkin. "It was great to be able to connect with other nonprofit professionals. I strongly recommend this conference to all of my colleagues. The sessions and sharing of resources make this a terrific learning and networking experience."

“Our Conference theme this year is ‘Impact!,’” said Mary Beth Natarajan, Blackbaud’s director of corporate communications. “Throughout the event, we will be rallying around the exciting impact nonprofits are making on the world by achieving their missions and discussing the role technology plays in making that happen.”

Randi Zuckerberg, who is scheduled to speak on Monday, Oct. 3, will address this year’s Impact! theme by offering ways that nonprofits can use Facebook to reinforce public awareness and build enthusiasm for their causes.

David Meerman Scott, who will offer the keynote speech on Tuesday, Oct. 4, wrote “The New Rules of Marketing & PR,” which spent six months on the Business Week bestseller list and is published in over 25 languages from Arabic to Vietnamese. His new book, “Real-Time Marketing & PR” reached number two on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list upon its release in November 2010. Scott will offer advice to nonprofits on how they can use social media strategically in their marketing.

BBCON 2011 will provide nonprofit professionals with three days of specialized educational content and opportunities to network and interact with peers and nonprofit experts. In addition to Blackbaud speakers, more than half of the speakers at the Conference either work at nonprofit organizations or are professionals working directly in the nonprofit sector.

This year’s Conference will feature:

> 190+ educational sessions – where attendees can qualify for CFRE and/or CPE credit while learning about organizational impact, interactive and direct marketing, fundraising, CRM, analytics, financial management, and Blackbaud technology best practices.
> Pre-conference Internet workshop and Internet-focused Track – for organizations looking for hands-on training and experience. Throughout the conference, Blackbaud will feature over 40 sessions dedicated to Internet topics including five panels on a variety of topics from peer-to-peer fundraising to social media strategies.
> Improved peer networking opportunities – with special events and discussions by organization type.
> Interactive nonprofit expo – where attendees can learn all about the latest Blackbaud technology and meet Blackbaud partners.
> Blackbaud Learn Labs – 25 hands-on computer lab sessions where attendees can get free product training.
> Customer support central – where attendees can get their product questions answered.

Benefitting nonprofits

Last year, Blackbaud lived its company values by directing more than $200,000 in expenses related to the Conference back to nonprofit organizations, seeking ways to preserve the environment, and incorporating a service project into the event. This year’s Conference will once again have a philanthropic focus on health and wellness. Blackbaud will also be providing 20 scholarships for this year’s North American Conference.

The “early bird” registration fee of $750 is available until June 30, 2011. For more information, and to register, visit http://bbcon.blackbaud.com. Follow the Conference news on Twitter at www.twitter.com/bbcon or become a fan of Blackbaud on Facebook at www.facebook.com/blackbaud.
