The Farmer's Office

The Farmer's Office is a complete accounting solution that is designed to meet the special requirements of farming operations. Standard features include ag payroll, vendor check writing, crop cost accounting and budgeting, general ledger, and chemical inventory/application tracking.

The Crop Cost Accounting system allows you to track the type of expense by general ledger account, job code, and job codes can be further assigned to groups (for reporting or budgeting purposes). Overhead cost centers allow you to group related cost centers together for reporting purposes as well as for automatic allocation of expenses. Up to four different types of overheads and multiple overhead levels give you a great deal of flexibility in modeling your farming operation. The Acreage Split option allows you to quickly expense a vendor check or invoice to a group of costs, and memorizes groups that you use frequently. The cost accounting system also tracks expenses by crop year, instead of calendar or fiscal year. Payroll overhead expenses (employer taxes and workers' comp costs) are expensed to the same cost center that the labor is, giving you a true total cost of labor for each cost center.

Options include crew payroll, farm management billing, accounts receivable, equipment costing, data collection interface, and quarterly/annual magnetic media reporting.

The Farmer's Office scales from a single user version for smaller farming operations to a multiuser version for large farming operations with multiple users.

Farming operation that also pack, market and ship their own produce (or ship for other growers) can combine The Farmer's Office with either The Shipper's Office (for fresh produce shippers) or Food Processor Accounting (for dried fruit and nut packers) systems.
