Founded in 1982, MYOB US, Inc. developed many groundbreaking financial software products including the Dow Jones Market Manager Plus, The Charles Schwab Equalizer, and The Wall Street Journal Corporate Performance Evaluator. In 1987, MYOB US moved into personal finance software with the development of Andrew Tobias' Managing Your Money for the Macintosh.
In 1989 MYOB US developed and published MYOB Accounting for the Macintosh. It became an instant success, compelling the company to develop MYOB Accounting for Windows in 1991. Several awards on both platforms confirmed MYOB Accounting's place in the market, including the WIN 100 by Windows Magazine, the "Best Value For Windows" by PC Computing Magazine and the Macworld World Class Award.
MYOB Accounting's success soon spread around the world. The Australian version won the coveted 1991Macworld World Class Awards for Best Accounting Software and Best Newcomer - Software.
In 1996, MYOB US, Inc. joined with its Australian re-publishers, MYOB Australia Pty Ltd., to create a multi-national software publishing partnership. The MYOB Group companies operates under the umbrella of MYOB Limited. The success of MYOB Accounting products around the globe is continued with the efforts of 6 local subsidiaries including, MYOB US, Inc., MYOB Australia Pty. Ltd., MYOB New Zealand, MYOB UK Ltd. and MYOB Asia. MYOB Accounting products have continued to garner the most coveted awards in their class around the world.
In 1999, MYOB Limited launched one of the most successful stock listings on the Australian Stock Exchange.
