I have just been asked to head our Microsoft Great Plains implementation Project. I work for a software developer (internet payment processor). The decision was made to go with Great Plains, my question today pertains to the customization piece that will be linking our software (over 8,000 transaction a day) to our accoutning system Great Plains, we have external consultants who will be working on that piece and will be working closley with our development team to complete the interface. My question is, is it common practice for the consulting firm which sells you MS GP softawre to own the code and have the ability to reuse it for future clients? I am concerened and do not have experience in this area. If you know what the 'norm' is for such ownership/right to such circumstances would you please share this knowledge with me? Thank you in advance for taking the time to read and respond to my query.
