Sterling National Corporation Named AIIM Best Practices Award Finalist for Use of AnyDoc®NOTICE™

TAMPA, FL — March 10, 2010 — AnyDoc Software, a leading provider of automated document, data capture, and classification solutions, announced today their client Sterling National Corporation has been named a finalist for the 2010 Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award, presented by AIIM. Sterling, a leading provider of outsourcing services for the mortgage industry, was recognized for their implementation of AnyDoc®NOTICE™ to streamline the processing of insurance notice documents.

The Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award presented by AIIM, the Association for Information and Image Management, recognizes excellence in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) field. The term "Best Practices" denotes a standard of excellence that has been achieved within an organization and refers to a process or implementation that can be quantified, adapted, and repeated.

Sterling processes insurance notice documents for their clients to ensure loans have the appropriate insurance coverage. They wanted a more efficient data capture solution that could accurately process upwards of 25,000 unstructured notices a day from 4,200 insurance carriers—who generate an astounding 50,000 different variations of documents. They selected AnyDocNOTICE for its ability to handle this high volume and variation of document types without the use of template technology.

“It’s an honor for Sterling to be recognized for the success of our implementation,” said Susan Cauble, Vice President of Information Technology, of Sterling National Corporation. “AnyDocNOTICE significantly cut our processing cycle times, allowing us to deliver critical data to our clients much faster—and accurately—reducing their exposure to risk with up-to-date status on insurance coverage.”

Powered by AnyDoc’s AnyApp™ technology, AnyDocNOTICE automatically captures data regardless of where it might be located on the page from one document to the next, without the need for static templates. Once AnyApp identifies the location of data on a particular version of a document, its “memory technology” remembers the location each subsequent time that document type from a carrier is received, thereby increasing the speed of processing.

Sterling now processes 100% of incoming notices with OCR automation, regardless if they are received in a paper, fax, or FTP format, compared to 78% with their previous system. In addition, verifiers now review fewer fields per work item, a big boost to productivity. And document processing cycle time—the time of document scan to when the data is posted to the system of record—has decreased.

With an existing form recognition and OCR system in place, traditional ROI based on reduction of full-time data entry operators or similar was not applicable. Rather, Sterling tracked three important metrics to evaluate the success of their implementation: field accuracy, match rate, and fields touched. With their primary goals and these three metrics achieved according to plan, Sterling considers their achievements a positive ROI. Other benefits realized include lower labor costs due to decreased system maintenance and manual processes.

The AIIM Best Practices Award will be presented at the Info 360 AIIM Expo and Conference in Philadelphia, PA, during the AIIM Annual Awards Celebration on April 20.

This marks the fifth time an AnyDoc client has been named a finalist for the AIIM Best Practices Award, including in 2009 for Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
