Dexter + Chaney Introduces New Functionality for its Forefront® Construction Management Software
Dexter + Chaney has introduced a new function for its Forefront® Construction Management Software that allows construction companies to quickly and easily store job-cost history on a CD, where it can be archived, viewed at a remote location or shared with a third party like the company’s CPA. The owner or project manager can view job-cost history anywhere (i.e., at home or a job site) without loading Forefront onto their laptop or home computer.
The new “Create CD” function in Forefront’s Job Cost module places all the job-related information in a specified directory that can then be burned onto a stand-alone CD-ROM. That includes images of all job-related documents, including vendor invoices and payroll time cards, that have been scanned and stored using Forefront’s Document Imaging capability. Users can “drill down” to view images of those documents on the CD that are identical to the images in Forefront Document Imaging.
“Since job costing is an essential element of every construction company’s business, we constantly add features to Forefront’s Job Cost module to make it more valuable,” said John Chaney, Dexter + Chaney’s president and co-founder. “The ‘Create CD’ function is the latest example that Forefront Job Cost is, and always will be, the backbone of our system.”
Other new features in Forefront Job Cost include an “Export to MS Project” option that allows Microsoft® Project information to be updated from current Forefront phase, employee and equipment information.
