Dexter + Chaney Integrates BMG Seltec’s Site Automation Truck Ticketing Software Into Its Forefront® Construction Management Software

Integration provides seamless quoting-to-invoicing system for aggregate and asphalt suppliers and construction companies

SEATTLE, April 5, 2005: Dexter + Chaney has integrated BMG Seltec’s Site Automation truck ticketing software into its Forefront® Construction Management Software, giving aggregate and asphalt suppliers and construction companies a seamless quoting-to-invoicing system. Information obtained about jobs, materials and customers is entered only once into the system, where it resides in a single location for invoicing and other purposes. Information flows automatically between Forefront and BMG Seltec’s applications.

Integration of BMG Seltec with Forefront creates a single, continuous process that eliminates multiple steps between quoting, ticketing and invoicing, thus increasing accuracy of customer billing, reducing frustration and enhancing job and company profitability. A single point of data entry into the system eliminates errors that typically result from multiple entry of the same data.

The integrated Forefront quote-to-ticketing-to-billing system replaces a familiar scenario: information entered at the main office is faxed to the scale house, where it’s entered a second time into the system. Office staff also has to match information on paper tickets to the appropriate customers for billing.

“The Forefront user—and his customer—can have complete confidence in their billing,” said John Chaney, Dexter + Chaney co-founder and president. “That’s important from a customer-relations and revenue-generation standpoint, since inaccurate invoices are a direct loss of revenue.

“Without an integrated system, customers who are overbilled will complain, and the company has to devote time and effort to sift through paper to correct the invoice and re-send it. That causes an unnecessary delay in payments. Conversely, customers who are underbilled typically won’t say anything—resulting in a revenue loss to the company.

“Both scenarios hurt the company’s bottom line.”

Chaney explained that the integration of products made by Dexter + Chaney and BMG Seltec—two long-time suppliers to the aggregates and asphalt industry—resulted from customers’ desire for enhancements to their quoting-to-invoicing process.

“We’re excited about having our two products work closely together to provide so many significant benefits to aggregate and asphalt suppliers,” he said.
