Turn Leads into Sales!


In the past construction companies have been able to rely on real estate agents and ongoing referrals to land bids and sell jobs. Few had to worry about generating, tracking or following up with their leads. The problem today is that many of the realtors have come and gone, leaving the builder with a model home or multiple specs to sell by themselves. For a company with no sales procedures in place this can be a big feat and can set you back a large sum of money.

Earlier this month Contractors Software Group gave a free educational seminar for local builders in the Twin Cities area. Topics that CSG president Jeff Knutson discussed were lead tracking, marketing and integration.

What is amazing is that most builders/contractors don't have a process for effectively tracking their leads nor do they have an adequate follow-up procedure in place to turn leads into sales. Even builders that are using automated solutions to track their leads are using more than one system for lead tracking, customer service, estimating, scheduling, field management and for job cost accounting. The disadvantage of using more then one program or system is that contractors are wasting time re-entering information.

What contractors should be looking for is an integrated solution where you only have to enter information into one program. A solution with one place to lookup customers, contacts, vendors and subs. One place that holds all the information about them including notes, opportunities, pictures, customer service, attached documents, etc. One place for everyone in your company to access whether they’re in the office or at the job site.

Contactors are trying to find ways to sell more and reduce overhead by eliminating duplication of work and effort. Automated lead tracking, marketing and integrated systems like ours offer them the solution to sell more and the ability to do more work with less effort.
